Following a great adventure around the East coast of England we found ourselves in Brighton on the good ship Elephant Daze. She has taken us on a journey neither Martyn or myself will ever forget. We have ridden the waves and sat on the mud on a journey from Hull via the Solent and back to Brighton. We were heading back to Hull when we finally made the very difficult decision to stay down South for the winter. So begins a new chapter in the adventures of Elephant Daze and her crew!

Turning a corner.
There was a definite feeling that spring was just around the corner yesterday. In fact all week the temperature has been a good few degrees warmer than previously. The days are lighter for longer and the first of the crocuses are starting to appear. I had a walk into Brighton the other day and noted that various different attractions that have been closed over the winter months were being prepared for re-opening. The ticket office for the Volks Electric railway was being spruced up. It runs from the pier to black rock which is right next to the marina. I think it’s a shame that it’s not open all year round. We are quite partial to the odd ride on the bumpy train. It’s much nicer than catching the bus and around the same price, even if it does rattle the old bones slightly! The trampolines complete with bungee attachments were being erected next to the pier - commence the sound of high pitched screaming from children with looks of terror on their faces while mum and dad look on with pride. Happy that their children are having a great time at the seaside... You wouldn’t catch me on one. Knowing my luck and propensity for disaster I would trampoline up, break the bungee and end up swimming back to shore. I’ll leave that one for the kids thanks. The crazy golf course is now open for business following a re-vamp over winter and the first of the Madeira Drive vehicle events takes place tomorrow. InCarNation - tomorrow Madeira Drive will be filled with the sound of smoke and burning rubber as petrol heads from all over will gather to compare gas guzzlers, I can’t wait! The weather is forecast to be sunny and I am looking forward to dusting off the camera and getting some new photos for the album. Sunday sees another event with the arrival of the Pioneer motorcycles. Motorcycles that pre-date 1915 would you believe?! So we will be taking a stroll down Madeira Drive on Sunday as well, it may not be just as exciting or fast paced as Saturday but it’s worth a look. Today the rain has been persistent to say the least but I won’t complain too much, as long as it’s sunny tomorrow...!
